Media Release Neller Joins the Fight Against Inactivity with Global Corporate Challenge25 May, 2007Neller staff across The GCC is a corporate health initiative to assist leading companies develop a competitive spirit and culture of health, fitness, teamwork and fun. A sedentary lifestyle is a leading cause of diabetes, cancer and heart disease. It increases chances of contracting 25 chronic diseases and inactivity causes 1.9 million deaths worldwide each year. Teams of 7 from participating companies each wear special GCC pedometers to track the number of steps made each day. The number of steps are added together to reach the team total. Neller believes that a healthy body and lifestyle not only benefits the company through less sick leave and more productive employees, but also assists employees in many aspects of their lives outside of work.
